Quiet luxury is in the spotlight as the “new trend”.
“What is quiet luxury?” you may ask, well the opposite of loud. Well known brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, that are recognizable by their logos printed all over their products, are considered “loud luxury”. Different to them, brands such as The Row, Khaite, and Max Mara, are considered “quiet luxury” due to their lack of image branding and timeless quality products.
To describe it in three words, minimalistic, classic, and sophisticated. It’s looking elegant without drawing too much attention to yourself. Anyone can dress themselves to mirror the quiet luxury style. You could pick up a white button down shirt from Zara, but it’s not “quiet luxury”, unless it has a $500 price tag. The term “quiet luxury” is just that, buying high quality clothes for luxury prices.
This recent surge of quiet luxury has been influenced by two big events this year. In a courtroom in Utah, where Gwenyth Paltrow was found not at fault in a ski crash trial in March 2023. The actress and businesswoman wore what would be called “Stealth Wealth”. As reported from PageSixe and Town&Country, she wore logo less items from brands including The Row, Proenza Schouler, Foundrae, Celine, Prada, and a notebook from Smythson.

Model and daughter of Lionel Ritchie, Sofia Ritchie married music executive Elliot Grainge in April 2023, and their wedding was nothing short of fabulous. The bride wore three custom Chanel dresses for her wedding at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, in the south of France. Although Chanel is well known around the globe, it is one of the top fashion houses who do quiet luxury best(not to mention they scream old money). Not just at her wedding but Ritchie has been wearing classic and preppy pieces for years, and continues this trend as she shares her life on TikTok.
Now enter the Jenner Sisters. Kylie Jenner has been spotted wearing more modest fashion and taking over the quiet luxury space. While recently in Paris, she had a black and white monochrome wardrobe. Wearing designer items from Alaia, Bottega Venetta, The Row, Lavin, and Ferragamo. All this is quite opposite from her normal maximalist style. Recently on Jenner’s Instagram that she was wearing gold ballet flats from Chanel, a classic staple of French wardrobes.

Her sister Kendall Jenner is no stranger to quiet luxury, as seen on her Instagram in 2020 wearing pieces from The Row. She has also been seen this past week in Paris wearing mini dresses from Alaia and St. Angi, pairing with a Hermes Kelly Bag and a Bottega Veneta’s Andiamo bag.
Other stars who exude this quiet luxury style include Victoria Beckham, Amal Clooney, Michelle Yeoh, and the Olsen twins.
