West Coast Mermaid

They’ve been really popular this past summer, but this fashion history tip really solidified my decision to always have this item in my closet.

Silver shoes.

Now I know sometimes silver items can be tacky, or only meant to be worn at certain times of the year but hear me out though!

According to a recent Vogue article, the people’s princess herself, Diana Princess of Wales, was seen wearing her trusty silver heels at multiple functions. Looking fabulous as always, her go-to shoes added to the outfit and made it simple to choose what to put on her feet for royal functions and diplomatic parties.

I recently found a pair of silver metallic heels, originally Nine West but I bought them from a consignment store in Vancouver called Dragon & Phoenix. 

Unknown to the summer trend, I thought they were really cute and got them specifically for a wedding I was going to. Recently I wore them to a friend’s birthday dinner. A fun extra something to add to my black corset top which I layered overtop my black slip dress. 

They are absolutely adorable and a great add to the closet. This is also a great example of an item that may come and go out of trend, but can be saved in your closet for when the time comes!
